Dear friends, dear comrades, this weekend we received the news that the court in charge of the trial of our comrade Adel has issued what we consider to be a repressive and arbitrary security order.

Under these conditions, the planned solidarity observation of the trial cannot be carried out to its full extent. The reason for this order is surely the fear of class justice of the many people expected in solidarity who want to critically observe the trial and support Adel. Officially, they have “security concerns” about Adel’s presence, which is why, according to the order, Adel, as a defendant, will be searched for weapons and dangerous objects. However, this is only the beginning. We understand that due to the current pandemic situation, the number of seats in the auditorium is limited. Only 20 people are allowed to be present, and far from any reality, they will also be searched, (even shoes, no joke!), furthermore no bags, mobile phones etc. are allowed to enter the hall. People who show solidarity with anti-fascists like Adel are subject to general suspicion in advance and must be regulated and intimidated by this measure. The pinnacle of impudence ends with the fact that the court decided to make copies of the identity cards of all those present in order to be able to identify and punish possible “troublemakers” later on. We consider this to be not only questionable on data protection grounds, but also disproportionate. We therefore ask the court to refrain from this measure or to destroy the copies of the ID cards immediately after the trial BEFORE the persons concerned! The exact wording of the conditions will soon be available on our homepage.

We are now mobilising for the national rally in front of the criminal court in Moabit! Let’s show them that their measures cannot and will not intimidate us.
We will be there, you will see us, you will hear us! For consistent anti-fascism and the fight against their class justice!

We, as a Solidarity Committee, strongly condemn this injunction, at least in part, and demand a fairer treatment of people who show solidarity with Adel, because trial observers and antifascists are not a danger to the general public!

Let’s not leave Adel alone and come to the rally!

Solidarity must become practical
